"Anyone loves Korean or Japanese dramas.  I found the best place to buy.

www.koreandramaclub.com

I think these two websites are from the same owner.

They have very great prices.

My favorite dramas
Korean:  Full House, Green Rose, Winter Sonata, Autumn in My Heart
Success Story of a bright girl."  What are your drama

Japanese: crying out loud in the center of the world, Densha Otoko and Slow Dance

Any recommendation???

Well, I guess I wasn't too clear about this. I was being silly.

My home life IS an Asian drama series.

It takes place in real time and is shown without subtitle. If you speak English you will understand most of it however Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese are regularly used during the high drama hour!

I went to Fry's to see about some linked cameras so we can start filming our daily lives. I don't know if it will get good ratings but it sure beats some of the crap on TV. We often  watch AZN and ImaginAsianTV and wonder if somebody is already watching us writing it down and filming it using paid actors.

Don't get me wrong, I love my life....it's so much better than TV!

Sometimes I will go to the Chinese video stores and look for Korean VCD's.  The quality may not be as great but you can get lucky and the price is so much cheaper.

Well, I'm sure if YesAsia had a rental service, they'd be cheap. Have you compared their prices to Amazon? Much cheaper. I like to buy and own stuff I like. I don't like renting at all, but I know some people do. I like packaging and beautiful design and words like "limited collector's edition" make me happy, albeit poorer. I hate how with NetFlix you get just an envelope, and so sometimes you miss the booklet, etc.

from the ones i watched recently (in past 6 months) the good ones were "nodame cantabile" (japanese, based on a manga by the same title), "fantasy couple" (remake/ korean version of "overboard"), and snow queen (also korean).  also, i really like "which star are you from" (came out a year ago) ... i guess i just love hyunbin and kim raewon.  :)

I second Hourglass - Mo Rae Shi Gae - old one but had all sorts of awesomeness.  Gangsters, love, friendship, even Korea history.

If you are really hurting, you can download them off the internet the day they show on tv in Korea.  There are many ways to do this, but the easiest way to find out is:

www.soompi.com/forums
Go look for korean movies and television I think.
Then click on official thread link.
In that forum, there is a link for downloading which takes you to all sorts of other forums for downloading.

Not the easiest thing, but if you are really hardcore - best way to get dramas cause you can watch them as they play in Korea.  But no subtitles.

Otherwise, in LA there is this store on 6th Street and Kenmore I think - it is next door to Ice Kiss - so find that and it is right next door.  For sure you can rent korean movies - dvds, but not sure about dramas.

I have broken the korean drama addiction - but miss it every once in a while.
