I love this store! When I need to have time for myself, I go to this store and calmly shop EVERYTHING!! So much fun!
We are soooo excited to have you at our Breast Cancer Connections fundraiser and networking party. My only problem is that I am going to be too busy to shop. :(
See you Thursday!

Finally! After carrying around the same bag for three years... I found something here! LOVE my new bag, and it wasn't that much $$. The owner is really mellow and helpful, BUT the one thing that I really liked about her was the fact that she had a story for each item and she actually remembered who they belonged to... I think that shows that she cares and she likes what she is doing. Of course I would go back, besides whether or not I'm buying something its a quiet cute place to kill some time!
THANKS FOR MY NEW BAG!!!!

Perfect little boutique. I could spend all day at this place! I saw lots of current styles and vintage pieces. I especially noticed a lot of vintage jewelry (I love that)! The owner was very sweet and helpful. I plan to go back when I have more time go look through all the treasure.

I visited It's A Girl Thing after searching online for some designer consignment stores in the area. I was definitely disappointed after reading all of the rave reviews on the internet.
I found the store to be cluttered. It's impossible to see everything because there is so much inventory. Things are stacked on top of others in a haphazard way.
I also found the prices of items unreasonably high, and I have been to many designer consignment stores throughout California and in the bay area and have seen many more reasonable prices than this store.
I also was disappointed to see fake handbags among the real things. I don't condone in any way the sale of fake bags, and I think stores should be doing all they can to combat this kind of thing, not mixing them in with the real things.
I wasn't impressed with the handbags or shoes there, but I did happen to find a cute necklace, and there certainly is a lot of jewelry to choose from if you're only going there for consignment jewelry, but again, most of it is overpriced.
I'd say skip this store if you're more into handbags and shoes. There are better and more reasonably priced designer consignment stores out there to get your accessories.

I've been to 'It's a Girl Thing' several times over the past year or so and each time I visit the merchandise has exceeded my exspectations!!! I LOVE couture items (mainly authentic Louis Vuitton) and if Cindy doesn't have it in her shop at the time I visit she'll take my request(s) so when something comes in she gets on the horn and calls me. She currently has commissioned several LV purses and a couple pair of LV shoes, mostly in monogram styles. I dropped 1/3 of the retail price for a 2007 handbag and I haven't put it down since I took it home (except to sleep).
Bottom line: I LOVE THIS STORE!!! thanks Cindy, for the exceptional service you provide us shopaholics!!

Great consignment store--very nicely decorated and so cute! Not to mention, Cindy, the owner, is so much fun to talk to and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend checking out this place since there are some pretty good buys here from baubles, shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc. You'll enjoy it!

So I had a really awesome, fun review written up last week which I thought I saved on my computer but it's not there. Senility...!
Attended the UYE for 1st year anniversary of It's a Girl Thing last week. The darling owner, Cindy S, invited us all into her shop...uh oh did she know what she was in for?? The store is cute, small, random location and I could see how it might be hard for a small business owner to make a store like this work in a little strip mall...but Cindy seems to have all the right moves for success.
This place is packed to the gills with GIRLIE STUFF. No boys allowed...well unless they are buying goodies for their girlies. This is the kind of place that gives me insant ADD. I can't even focus on one thing...Oh, is that a purse? Oh, I like that bracelet. Oh, did someone bring fried chicken? (Disclaimer...that's not typically there, it was for the UYE though..ha!).
It was so fun to see so many fab gal Yelpers that I see at lots of events, but never got enough time previously to chat with...and meet a few new Yelp gals. It was 2 hours of jam-packed girl time...the estrogen in the store was crazy. Came home with a sweet little clutch for a wedding I'm attending in August and some fake bling for travel. Fun times.
Kudos Cindy on 1 happy year and wishing you many more successful years !!!

Ooohhh - I love it! I came here last night for the UYE with my best friend, Akia to check out the shop and enjoy some wine and brownies (and talk about boys with Serbelle). It is small, however, they have a ton of things to browse through and I really like their selection of jewelry and purses. I was pretty impressed with the prices - definitely affordable for everyone. I actually ended up recommending this place to a few of my GF's already when I spoke to them last night. I didn't get a chance to speak to the Owner, but she seemed semi-nice (to my friend; but I guess there was some miscommunication for that). Nice to me on Yelp, though - Haha!
This will probably be my new jewelry hunting ground from now on - Good job with everything last night!
P.S. - i have to agree with Elizabeth G. - even though it's smaller than most stores, you can spend hours looking at all of it!

Great owner
Great Service
Great Selection
Decent Location
You will walk out with something...I did.
I attended a UYE to celebrate one year of business success. Like the girl scout cookie that I am, I tagged along with Queen Cupcake herself. Met some new yelpers, Cindy, and the infamous 99 Chicken. I was happy with the great setup, and was happy to see many successful San Jose Business woman in attendance. It's good to know that the "coop" stays strong to support their own. Great joint, and as many said, hope to be back for some jewelry and purses.

Seriously I could have some alarming financial issues if I keep coming in here! I earned enough miles on my card there last night to fly to Vegas!
Congrats on 1 year Cindy!
I will definitely be back, but only if you promise to help me smuggle the goods past the hubby!!

Are you a girl? Do you like things? Of course you do!
Then you need to stiletto your way over to, It's a Girl Thing. I went last night for the anniversary party and although I'm not sure if fabulous Cindy is always serving wine, cheese, fried chicken, and cupcakes I have no doubt you will find something else you will be addicted to and have to take home, cherish, and adore. Remember no matter how much you work, clean, cook, argue with the hubby/boyfriend, and take care of other people.....You are a girl and you deserve things! Delightful things like vintage shoes, purses and jewels.
Today's Mantra: I am a girl and I deserve things. (To be repeated 5 times in the morning and 5 times in the evening, and 10 times fast while on your way to, It's a Girl Thing)

It's not all that great. So overrated. I went there just based on the reviews. Fake LV's. Even if it was faux it was 60-70 bucks. There's a balengcia bag with stains on it for 600-700 bucks. It's pretty outdated jewelry. I saw jewelry that were old old. I looked at everything and didn't see one item that I would purchase. Stuff you would basically find at a flea market or garage sale. Owner was nice but I won't be going back.

How freakin cute is this place? Seriously?
I came here for a fun yelp event and stayed the whole time. I felt like I needed 2 hours to go thru all the cute things in the shop. Jessie K. had been telling me about this place, but it took the promise of fried chicken and cupcakes to get me there on a weeknight!
I am thinking of doing a radio event here later in the summer sooooo, if you want an excuse to browse for 2 hours, stay tuned!

when you walk into the store, you will be shocked at all the displays in the store! There is just so much stuff everywhere, you don't even know how to contain yourself! I find it easiest to sweep in a counterclockwise manner, so by the time i'm almost finished, i will be at the register =)
Cindy carries: shoes, purses, earring, brooches, necklace, rings, bracelets, hats, and much more! There are all types of prices you can find, like a chanel purse for $1,000+ to tiny little accessories that cost less than $10. She even has some Tiffany & Co jewelry which was really nice! Juicy couture purses [i would definitely want to come back for this ... *cross fingers: it will still be there*. There are some "knock" off but its not to mislead you, because the price is definitely priced very accordingly to the product. She will tell you whats real and whats not.
I found these very cute pink pearl earrings, and i was very hesitant with buying them because they are so affordable and not to mention she said it was 14k gold! i am severely allergic to fake jewelry that contains a lot of nickel, so was i was really worried. But Cindy assured me it was real gold, and 2 days with the earrings on, not a worry! I am so relieved, no need for more medicine and doctor visits (hooray!)
I will definitely come back when I'm in the area! thank you cindy and congratulations on your 1year anniversary with the store! =)

Came here for a UYE a few nights ago, and I have to say- Cindy did a fantastic job with her store! Congrats on the 1 year anniversary!!
This store is full of beautiful, one of a kind objects- jewelry, handbags, shoes, etc. They have so many things, you'll find yourself feeling like you just died and gone to girly heaven. And what's even better is that many of the items are reasonably priced. I found an adorable necklace there that was affordable and that I can also feel good in knowing not many others will have it.
This place is a little hidden, but it's in the same shopping center as Walgreen's and Scott's Video on Willow and Bird. It's definitely worth a look! In fact, you will probably be cursing my name once you're in that store and then walk out with loads of merchandise you just couldn't resist buying. :) But at least you can also blame me for looking f*in HAWT! ;-)

I'm a sucker for accessories and this place has them!
If you know me and see me a lot when I'm not lazy (dressing like a bum) then you know that I love wearing earrings or necklaces and bracelets (not so much for rings coz of my stubby fingers). It's A Girl Thing has a lot...A LOT of them!
I swear if I only had the money I would have came out with a pair of earrings in every color, every style. She has a huge selection and they range from cheapy and nice (beads, sterling silver, plastic, glass, etc) to expensive and nice (the golds and diamonds and pearls). I got these very cool feather shaped dangly silver earring for 9$. They are so cute and really unique. I love them!
My other go to accessory are long necklaces. The store has a lot of really nice ones but the ones that attracted me are either stuff that looks similar to ones I have or they are too short for my preference. I would love to see more long necklaces.
She also has bags! I LOVE BAGS! I seriously have 2 drawer-full + a bunch more lying on the floor or hanging on knobs. She has a good selection of bags but the ones I really like are not within my budget yet. Cindy--I was eying that oversized Dooney & Burke bag (the blue one) the whole night!
They also have shoes, belts, scarves and some clothes. Its really cool since there is a mix of style of the accessories. They have a nice selection of vintage jewelry.
The store is also really cute.
I will definitely go back for some jewelry hunting and when I get the funds for the bag!

This store is so cute...and so dangerous at the same time. HA HA There is a large variety of accessories. Of course, I'm all about the jewelry...and there is enough in there to take an hour or more to go through. I have to make several rounds to see if there is something I missed. :) I bought several earrings and a cute leather clutch I'm going to take to Vegas this summer when I was in there last. Plus, Cindy is a blast! I'm tempted to go there just to hang out with her because she is so much fun!
I also had a massage from Joanne there. Yes...there is a place inside to get a massage and she has magical hands...plus she is also tons o'fun to be around!
These ladies, the atmosphere and the hidden treasures are worth stopping in for!!! Happy shopping!

As a fan of trying to be myself and not to follow the latest trends, I love spending hours browsing through consignment stores and thrift shops. Not only can you usually find unique and interesting items, if not the occasional hidden gem, you can get your finds at a fraction of the cost of what you'd pay for them new.
So the other day, while I was up in Willow Glen and had a little bit of time between appointments, I sought out Cindy S.'s shop. It's a little difficult to find at first, but was totally worth the effort I put in looking for it!
As has been mentioned before, Cindy is extremely friendly and knows her merchandise. She regaled me with stories about some of the jewelry in the case, and knew exactly how many of my favorite brand of leather goods she had in stock. But not only is she friendly and ever-so-helpful, she has some REALLY cute stuff in her store! I was charmed by her selection of vintage jewelry, and even found the perfect necklace to accessorize the basic black I wear when I have events at work.
And now my frugal self can say that I inspected a real LV and tried on Tiffany jewelry--all without having to deal with snooty salespeople. Vicarious logo-lusting with none of the guilt! Thanks, Cindy!

I was looking for cheap deals and found this store through Yelp. This place is a bit hard to find, but there is a sign out front listing this store is in the area (across the street from Walgreens). I just parked and walked around until I found this in the back corner, away from the streets. The owner does seem very nice and said hi as soon as I walked in, but was with apparently another seller. I browsed around, twice or three times and ended up not buying anything, but did see some good deals - earrings for $6 to 7 and shoes for $12. There were also brand names like Chanel watch and Louis Vuitton belt. I would say it is worth a drive if you're in the area, but not something to make a trip out of.

I love Cindy's store! Tucked away in a little strip mall in Willow Glen, not far from the 87 freeway, It's a Girl Thing features a amazing and constantly changing array of practically new designer shoes, jewelry, purses, and other accessories, all at excellent prices. I have found 2 items here that I use constantly, a gorgeous black Ferragamo purse, and a beautiful pendant that has garnered numerous compliments from my friends. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the San Jose area, and especially if you are out shopping with your girl friends and want to spend an afternoon trying things on. Cindy is very friendly and helpful, and is pretty candid about what does and doesn't look good on you - which I truly appreciate. I've also consigned some items at Cindy's store. She was a pleasure to work with on that end as well and priced my items fairly.

A haven for accessories whores -- chockful of bags, jewelery, shoes, and belts of all kinds of styles and price ranges.
Yes, there's barely-used designer shoes and purses at a fraction of their original cost. But there's also unique pieces by local artists, tasteful jewelery left behind by exes (ah... memories), and fun vintage earrings (which I love). Why pay fifty bucks for some chunky turquoise pieces, when you can pay a few bucks for some retiring yuppie's shame-jewelery from the 80s?
The place is as bright, warm, and friendly as the owner, Cindy. And if you kind of suck at pulling an outfit together, Cindy has a damn good eye.
Plus, you'll get really fair pricing if you're either selling or buying something. I've brought a lot of crap to consignment stores, and this is the only store that's asked me for input on the pricing of one of my items. Never again, Buffalo Exchange. Never again.
It's A Girl Thing isn't hard to find if you're looking for it, but you probably won't stumble upon it. It's in the shopping "center" at the corner of Bird and Willow, next to the Pure Water.

I love this store, it's filled with everything you don't really need but absolutely have to have. I have gotten some amazing "finds" at It's a Girl Thing, a Gucci purse, Chanel sunglasses, the list goes on. The owner Cindy is awesome, she's always happy to show you items that have just made their way into her store, or things that she thinks fit your style. Cindy will even email you pics of new stock if you let her know what designers are on your wish list.
For those of you who aren't label conscious you should still check this store out because it's filled with something for everyone and there are items sold here for every budget. Ironically enough a purse I bought here for $15 wins more raves from my friends than many of it's designer cousins. When friends ask me where I got it I just smile (I'll never tell)..."wait, what do you mean everybody is going to know once they read my review? Awww crap, Cindy hide the good stuff and don't let anyone buy it 'til I get there!

Warm, friendly and helpful are just a few of the adjectives that can be used to describe the atmosphere of this store. It starts with a warm greeting upon entering the shop. The experience continues with the sparkle of jewlery and the smell of leather handbags. All the merchandise is in prestine condition and ready to take home for the thrifty buyer. I plan on visiting the shop over and over again for birthday presents, christmas gifts and a few fun gifts for yours truely. The store is a find...don't miss it!

I finally made it on over to It's a Girl Thing. Well yes indeed it is. I arrived after 6 on a weeknight. At first I was the only customer so I had Cindy (and her friend Tim) all to myself, which was a great way to get started. And then gradually a group of regulars came in and it turned into a girl party!
I didn't really check out all the shoe and purse inventory (although it was substantial even though Cindy's shop is small), because I got quickly fixated on the jewelry. Really, honestly, I just planned to check the place out and see if I might bring in some consignment items myself. Ha. Came away with a diamond ring and several beautiful sterling pieces. There were other pieces I liked too but once I got fixated on the diamond ring I had to push away from the table, if you know what I mean. Let's put it this way: I snagged enough bling that Cindy threw in a shop Tshirt that "my girls" and I will wear proudly around town.
I would have enjoyed every minute even if I didn't buy anything and I can tell that Cindy would have still provided great customer service. If you like shoes, purses, or jewelry stop by and enjoy the wares and the good company. I think you might find something to buy, too, but for sure your spirits will lift and you will have a good time!
